Before I officially begin this post, here's a small note: weebly.com (my blog editor site) changed the way they do things and I'm not sure that I like it very much. It's weird.
Happy Summer everyone! I haven't updated in a while, but that just means that I've been so busy living life that haven't had time to blog about it! I'm currently in transition. Moving from Cedar City to Murray for a few weeks while waiting to leave for Spain has been a weird place to be. I feel like I'm just playing the waiting game.... waiting for work to be over, waiting to leave the country, waiting for the next phone call from my boyfriend (yeah, i've got one of those now!), and most of all waiting for the summer to be over so I can jump into SUU adventures again. I love being back in Murray, but I feel like I belong in the "college world" and being out of it has definitely thrown me for a loop. Even in the midst of all the waiting, I've had a great couple weeks! Here's the highlights:
WORK
Last summer I worked for firstmedicalproducts.com and it was quite monotonous. I was extremely grateful for the job, but I learned that sitting behind a computer all day was NOT something I wanted to do ever again. As y'all know, life requires sacrifice. Though I didn't want to return to online shinanigans, my summer is packed with activities and this job gives me the chance to earn money while still having flexibility to do other things. I'm so blessed to have this job and I'm so glad that I've had the opportunity to do it again this summer. Instead of working with the actual website, I've been guest posting on other blogs in order to get links back to the firstmedicalproducts domain. Basically, I research and write articles all day long and I love it! Some of my stuff has already been published and, though I'm drained by the end of the day, I am enjoying myself at work a lot more this summer!
FAMILY
My family treats me unbelievably well! Although it's hard for me to give up the independence of living in my own apartment, I've been truly blessed to move back home. It's fun to see everyone every day and I love the comfortable atmosphere of our home. It's also been great to go to family dinners and see my extended family. Falling back in the safety net of family has truly relieved a lot of stress from my life. I am still busy (of course), but it's nice to be able to relax a little bit. It amazes me how much my parents have sacrificed to provide the best opportunities for me and I really want to show them my appreciation in anyway I can!
BOYFRIEND
Who knew that I'd end up in a serious relationship right in the middle of end-of-semester madness and Spain preparations? It's funny how things work out. Austin Reese is the kindest, most thoughtful, most hardworking, wonderful man that I have ever met. When we're together, life just feels like a fairytale. He came to St. George to meet the fam down there (they were all very impressed) and just this last weekend I went down to Mt. Carmel to see where he grew up and such (he says his family was very impressed with me as well). The craziest part of the whole thing is that we haven't been dating long and I already feel like we've known each other forever. I am insanely lucky to be dating a guy who's quickly become my best friend. It's great!
I leave for Spain next Monday and I don't feel ready yet! Where has the time gone? When school got out I was not looking forward to the waiting game, but suddenly it seems like I've run out of time! When things get busy, time flies by.
