Remember that great book series, Harry Potter? Well, in the magical world of witchcraft and wizardry that is Harry Potter's life, there is a thing called an "Unbreakable Vow." In order to do an unbreakable vow, you need both people that are making the vow to stand across from each other and hold wrists. Then you need a third person to use their wand to bind the vow between the two people. In the movie depiction, we've got Snape and Narcissa making a vow about Malfoy and Bellatrix is the third party person that is making the vow legit.
This week, I made an unbreakable vow.
My friend Micah and I have been hanging out a lot recently. We went on a date last friday that was way fun and we are going to the Fall Formal for Institute tonight. I'm a dumb girl..... which means that I tend to romanticize; something that I forget girls do. Romanticizing means I think about dating wayyyy too much..... losing sleep over it because I'm letting my head go wild. Since I'm in this twitterpated state, Trisha asked me to make an unbreakable vow- a vow that I won't get married in the next 10 months.

In order to make the "Unbreakable Vow" we needed a third person with magical powers. We asked Janelle to help us out with that bit, since she's so magical and all.
The next thing we needed was a wand. I have a large mug full of different writing utensils, and so, like Mr. Ollivander, I let the "wand" pick Janelle. This lovely wand is 7 and 1/2 inches, made of polycarbon plastic, yellow goose-like feathers and has the light of winnie the pooh within. Remember, the wand picks the wizard!
Trisha and I stood face to face, grasping each other's wrists. Trisha made me repeat the following vow:
"I, Xochitl Summers, will not get married within the next ten months. When I do intend to get married I must ask Trisha for permission. I love you Trisha."
When the vow was completed, Janelle waved her new wand, lighting the center and shouted the magic word "Ka-Bam!" This vow is now binding. I've made a verbal and magical contract with my dear friend and it cannot be altered until it's end in September of 2012. Isn't that fantastic? We sure know how to keep things entertaining in 'lil' Cedar City.
