Happy Holidays Blog Readers!!!! I've been busy with school and work and dates and life, but I just had to blog today and express my gratitude for the holiday season!
Yesterday I went to the Institute Closing Social and it was a blast! They did a Christmas Choir Concert and then we danced the night away! I love institute dances because the music is always sing-able and the dancing is always clean! It got so hot in the dance room that I went outside and made a snow angel to cool down. Santa was there and when he showed up the college students went crazy! Screaming and yelling for that jolly old man. We got our pictures taken with him- I'll post one when I get it back.
Speaking of Santa- My institute teacher gave us a great thought this week: "Santa and Satan. They have the same letters in their names. They both wear red. They both are trying to hide the true meaning of Christmas." Hahaha! Betcha won't look at that the same ever again :)
This morning I volunteered at the Make-A-Wish Christmas Breakfast with Santa. I ran the face painting station with this very artsy girl named Emily. She did this wonderful picture of the Grinch on my face.... I wasn't as talented as she was, but that's okay. We served breakfast to the wish children and their families. It was so christmassy! Totally worth waking up early on a Saturday.

My roommates and I decided to do a Secret Santa thing for Christmas so today we're going to decorate our apartment, blare Holiday music, and exchange gifts. I'm so excited to give my special gift! This season has become so commercialized it seems, but the true meaning of Christmas is still there. At Christmas we celebrate the birth of the Son of God who came to save us all. Christ is the center of Christmas. As you give this Christmas I encourage you to remember that we give to our loved ones to help us remember that the Savior gave His life for us. What a wonderful message we can spread in this season of giving!
