SCAB. Eccford. Straccles. That's my staff :)
Hello blogosphere! Here I am, back at SUU for the third round!
This year, I go by many names. I have many titles that I'm not sure I can fit into, but my life isn't slowing down so I guess I should learn how to juggle!
Xochitl Summers, Honors RA.
Holy cow, I love my job! I can't even describe how much fun I'm having as an RA. Opening has been very intense, but now that my 24 residents are all moved in and classes are starting, I think the semester will be way fun! I'm impressed by how involved my residents are in the community already, and I look forward to helping them learn and discover what it means to be a t-bird. I'm kinda on a "WOO HOO SUU!" kick because of my job, but I really do love this university!
Xochitl Summers, Senior Comm. Student.
Sometimes I forget that school actually takes work. Today I had 2 Comm. classes and then 2 institute classes. I'm really excited about institute (I'm taking Prep. for Eternal Marriage and Book of Mormon 1 Nephi-Alma), but my upper-division comm. classes scared me a bit. It's a lot of writing, a lot of research, and a lot of group presentations! I love being a senior in my college because I recognize a lot of the people in class, but the level of work is astonishing! The syllabi just made me realize just how much I've got on my plate... but I'm sure it won't seem so bad if I plan my time well.
Another thing with being a senior in the comm. department is that I have to start preparing for graduation. I'm not sure exactly what it takes to graduate, but I'm signed up for all the right classes and I should be on track. A meeting with my adviser is sure to clear things up. I can't believe I'm really embarking on my last year at SUU!
Xochitl Summers, Girlfriend.
Who knew that being in a relationship would make people ask so many questions? I am constantly blushing as people recognize my name and say "oh, you're dating Austin." Haha, I don't know why it surprises me so much, but when people know me in connection to Austin it really catches me off gaurd. Just another thing to get used to with a new semester. I'm so glad we live in the same city again!
Xochitl Summers, President of NSLS.
This one isn't that new, but with a fresh group of incoming members it's sure to be one heck of a ride! Scheduling with SUU has been a pain in the neck, but my first e-board meeting is this next week and a meeting with our faculty adviser is coming too. This club is full of good things for student leaders- I just hope I can pull it together enough that they can reap the benefits!
There' my new life. Let's see how it all plays out! Thanks for reading!
