Since Nikayla has now entered the MTC- I'm so proud, but I'll miss her sooooo much!- I decided that this blog post would be stolen from her facebook pictures.
One of the things that I love about my Mom's family is that we always go on "adventures" when we are together. These pictures are from a trip to see the dam and petroglyphs in Whitney Pockets, Nevada. I don't remember the trip very much, but the pictures remind me of all the trips that we have taken all over the place!
Most of our "adventures" happen during girls weekend. We go and see petroglyphs or Fremont Indian ruins or whatever all the time! I didn't realize that not every family learns about the history of their state until I gave a speech about Rock Art in my Communications class in high school. I was amazed that poeple new so little about rock art and it's meanings! How crazy is it that something I've been doing my whole life is not a common practice? :)

Here we are climbing to the top of the dam. Look how little all those kids are!!! When we went to Whitney Pockets this time I recognized the dam as we approached. I don't know how old I was, but I'm pretty sure that I've been there before! The grandkids on this side of my family came in 2 waves: Josh being the oldest of the first group and Kaden being the oldest of the second. Since Kaden and the younger kids came along, we have been double visiting places. It's really cool because then the little kids get to have the same experiences that I did, and they will remember Grandma's "adventures." I don't mind doubling either because then I can see how things have changed since the last time I visited.
I"m so grateful for my family and all the wonderful things that we do together!
