So today I was a little stressed out so i went for a drive. I started going to Walmart, but then I turned around and headed down University Blvd. until I was in the mountains. It's a great thing when I can just head out and drive all my problems away!
At first I was a little nervous, you know how it is when you start seeing signs that say "Road closed to Brianhead" or "Snow tires/ chains from here on out," but as I drove the nerves and stress and everything just melted away. I was watching my odometer (that's the mile one right?) and after about 10 miles I found a place to turn around. It was right by this river so I got out and walked around a bit.

I walked down a little rock path and saw this gorgeous view! The river was running underneath a think layer of ice and snow, the dark grey water only visible where the ice had fallen through. The rushing creek was a stark contrast to the red and white stone walls around it. I love this picture on the right because it shows the trees that worked so hard to thrive in the middle of the rockface. Very cool! I'm thinking about going back there in a few months, or when I'm stressed out again, and taking pictures when the snow has melted. It was a little piece of nowhere that suddenly became my piece of heaven for awhile. It was cold, so i didn't stay long, but the drive and the scenery and the blasting radio in my car definitely made this trip worth it!
I love living in Cedar City. I know there isn't much here, and I've had a hard time with some of the change that has come into my life because I moved here, but I know that this is the right place for me! Look at the mountains and rivers and rocks and trees that my Father in Heaven placed here just so I could drive down the canyon and see them!
In Institute the past little while we've been talking about the creation (side note: This guy named Kyle in my class told me he heard people talking about my name the other day... now I'm just trying to figure out who the heck would be talking about me?! Kinda strange) and some of the things that we say in class are very strange... I need to apologize to Jake Ferguson, because according to Brigham Young, Adam really was an alien of sorts... anyway... talking so much about the creation has made me realize that we are so small compared to the "verse" (as they say in Firefly) and God actually took the time to make this one scene in Cedar City just for me. Think about that for a moment- He cares so much about everything that I am going through, whatever anyone is going through really, that he put these breathtaking scenes on the earth! How cool! My stress is gone and I have a better appreciation for the beautiful world in which I live. It's turned out to be a good day. Over and Out!
