In a 15 minute period, I received 3 texts from Janelle:
"Okay, are we really going bowling tonight? 'cuz I'm going to start inviting people"
"Maybe we should do it tomorrow though, then more people might be able to come."
"But I really want to do it tonight... what do you think?"
What do I think? I think I'm in class and it's not necessary to text me your thoughts! Hahaha. Of course I can't say no to Nellie, so we went BOWLING last night!
Doesn't it seem like bowling alleys never age? Every bowling alley I've ever been to seems stuck in the past. Less than high-tech screens, pictures of movie stars that are so old you can't recognize them, arcade games that still take nickels, and comfy worn out booths by the snack bar. I love it! Bowling never seems to go out of style!
We went to the Cedar City Bowling Center and I wasn't disappointed in the slightest. It was fantastic- from the classy bowling shoes to the greasy cheese fries, I fell in love with the atmosphere instantly! I could live there quite happily.
I got a strike in my first frame!!! It was insane! I figured out that if I think I suck at bowling, then I get strikes. If I get even a shred of confidence, then I throw gutter balls. It's a vicious cycle of goofing off, being surprised, trying to do well, and failing. The things running through my head while bowling are quite complex.. it's a game of trying to trick myself without letting me know. Even with my over-analyzing brain, I bowled a 102! I got 4 strikes in the game! WOOT WOOT!
Bowling is fun! Sometimes I forget that beautiful fact. I'm definitely going to go bowling again this semester- and next time I'm going to win!
Thanks for reading :)
